Zusammenfassung (übersetzt):
The aim of this paper is to address the bilateral relations between Brazil and Bolivia in the context of the expansion of scope and length of Brazilian south-south cooperation. This study revolves around the main argument that horizontal cooperation with Bolivia must be perceived in connection to the diverse spectrum of bilateral ties, in which political realities, national interests, and horizontal practices converge. The main intention of this research will be to combine the understanding of the contexts and the perceptions of both sides regarding the changing times and the presence of Brazil in South America. While the Bolivian case reveals similar challenges to other bilateral relations, it also presents particularities in face of the profound transformations this country has recently undergone and the dramatic problems of asymmetry that condition the relationship between both countries.
