The article is divided in three areas, which are: crime and the sense of security; public security policies; and law enforcement policies. On the conclusion of the text, we recognize the limits of the work and highlight the importance of the actors to change the future, worrying tendencies, desirable objectives and the need for long-term planning for Brasil.
