Abstract (Translated):
This paper analyzes the effectiveness of the economic model which was adopted in Bolivia since 2006. For that purpose, the effect of the new paradigm was evaluated on six Bolivian indicators: production level, exportations, economic diversification, per capita income, human development and environment. In that sense, following the methodology of synthetic control, it was built a "Synthetic Bolivia" based on 100 countries in the period 1991-2017. It was found that the economic model caused very modest effects on the production level and the per capita income, almost null effects on the human development and negative effects on the economic diversification, the exportations and the environment. Hence, it was found that the improvements in the Bolivian indicators were caused by a favorable extern situation, mainly.
