Abstract: 
The Pharmaceutical industry is one of the most intensive sectors in scientific and technological research. Its innovative ability contributes to highly improve in the treatment of illnesses and has an important impact in other industry sectors. For all this reasons it becomes a strategic sector for all countries. This article is focused on the demographic structure of the pharmaceutical Spanish sector, in order to analyze the significance of the participation companies in this important economic activity.
